For Katie, Day Operations Manager at The APC, trucks are more than just a familiar sight on the road. They carry memories, milestones and the people who mean the most to her.
Having been part of The APC for 19 years, Katie has become a much-loved part of the team. Back in 2016, a truck was named after her – a special recognition of her dedication and contribution to the business.
Now, with the recent launch of WS Truck Spotting, Katie has even more reason to feel proud when she sees her trucks out on the road. But this time, the names carry an even deeper and more personal meaning.
Romilly Lois
The names Romilly and Lois belong to Katie’s daughters.
In 2022, Katie and her family experienced the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Lois, who was stillborn at 39 weeks.
Two years later, in 2024, Katie welcomed her daughter Romilly into the world, bringing new joy to Katie and her husband John.
Together, the names Romilly Lois represent two sisters – one here, and one forever remembered. Seeing their names travelling up and down the country makes the truck incredibly special to Katie and her loved ones.
Katie Sue
Another truck carries the name Katie Sue – bringing together Katie’s name and that of her mum, Sue.
Sadly, Sue passed away in 2021. She had been incredibly proud when Katie was named Employee of the Year in 2016, a moment that meant so much to them both.
Now, seeing a truck travelling the roads with their names together is a beautiful way for Katie to honour her mum and keep her memory close.
For Katie, these trucks are moving tributes – carrying the names and memories of the people she loves wherever the road takes them.
And perhaps that’s what makes WS Truck Spotting so special, behind every truck can be a story, and sometimes, that story is much more meaningful than you could ever imagine.
