Timed Delivery
For urgent or time-sensitive consignments, The APC Network offers flexible timed delivery options to ensure your parcel arrives when it’s needed.
Timed services are ideal for fresh produce, perishable goods, travel documents, medical supplies and other priority shipments. Parcels are carefully scanned into transportation cages to maintain accuracy, security and visibility throughout the network.
Timed delivery options include:
- Weekdays before 10:30am
- Weekdays before 12:00pm
- Saturdays before 10:30am
- Saturdays before 12:00pm
Additional service options such as Fragile and Security handling are also available.
Weekdays refer to Monday to Friday.
Please note that timed and next day services may have coverage limitations in some areas. We recommend confirming availability with your local depot prior to dispatch by quoting the delivery postcode.
Fragile Service
The APC Network offers a specialist Fragile Service, perfect for delicate items such as flowers, food and other sensitive parcels.
Key features:
- Hand-sorted items – no automated machinery is used, ensuring careful handling
- Segregated cages – each parcel is kept separate for maximum protection
- Trained staff – all parcels are handled by team members fully trained at The APC Training Academy
This service gives peace of mind when sending items that require extra care, combining reliability with expert handling throughout the delivery journey.
Liquid Service
Our specialist Liquid Service is designed for items such as beer, wine and other bottled goods.
Key features:
- Hand-sorted items – carefully processed without automated machinery
- Segregated cages – parcels are kept separate for maximum protection
- Trained staff – all consignments are handled by team members fully trained at The APC Training Academy
This service ensures liquid consignments arrive safely and securely, giving you confidence in every delivery.

Our specialist Security Service is ideal for high-value items such as electronics, important documents and other sensitive parcels.

Live Fish & Live Coral Service
The APC Network provides a specialist Live Fish and Live Coral service, prioritising the welfare of aquatic livestock while in our care. With over 10 years of experience, we deliver a reliable, safe, and trusted transport solution.

- Animal Transport Authorisation – fully licensed via the Animal & Plant Health
- Agency (APHA), part of DEFRA
- Dedicated code of practice – developed in conjunction with Staffordshire County Council

Volumetric weight
How to calculate
From time to time it’s necessary to calculate the volumetric weight of a package/parcel as the cost can be
affected by the amount of space the parcel/package occupies when being transported.
Use the formula: Height (cm) x Length (cm) x Breadth (cm) divided by 6000 = Volumetric Weight
