From Network Services to Assistant QHSE Manager

When Lydia joined The APC in 2019 as a Network Services Co-ordinator, a career in Health & Safety wasn’t part of the plan. Whilst in school, her original ambition was to design album covers for CDs and DVDs.

After raising three children and working in hospitality and retail, Lydia was looking for a role that would challenge her, help her grow and offer a real sense of achievement. The APC gave her that opportunity.

Starting in Network Services, she developed skills in customer service, data management and relationship building across the APC network. During the Covid period, Lydia took on a new challenge and moved into the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental team as a QHSE Administrator.

Six years later, Lydia is now an Assistant QHSE Manager and continues to build her expertise through professional development, including NVQ Level 3 Health & Safety, CMI Level 3 Management & Leadership, First Aid training, and ongoing Level 6 Health & Safety and Fire Risk Assessment qualifications.

Lydia’s journey is a great example of how The APC supports colleagues to develop new skills, embrace new opportunities and build rewarding careers.
